i'm totally up for that song! i love anything by daughter. :3

um, i don't wish to suggest anything similar to our last MEP, but unfortunately, this song has similar themes. the lyrics, which can be found here (http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/d/daughter/youth.html) speak of a love that has gone, a shattered heart, an inability to love.

a stanza which i really feel captures the song is this:

"Well I've lost it all, I'm just a silhouette,
A lifeless face that you'll soon forget,
My eyes are damp from the words you left,
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest."

i don't know if i'm posting anything that can help anyone, but i thought i'd offer up my thoughts. c:

I really love Daughter! I'd be down to do anything by her. ^^

Don't Cry - Olivia Broadfield - Lost childhood angst.
Melancholy Hill - Gorillaz - Could be romance or friendship.
Sail - Awolnation - Individual character stuff.

hm.. Yeah, I see what you mean :/. But maybe for a theme we can do like... being left behind?

And Don't Cry is growing on me, honestly. I really like how it sounds.

Hmmmm, I think Anna's idea about being left behind could work... but focus more on being crushed about it. With The Chain, it was more about just saying goodbye, while this could really portray a stronger emotion.

as was stated before with the lyrics "Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest." or something like "And if you're still breathing you're the lucky ones" it could really show the damage the relationship has done. If I were to make an example, I could say something like:

Zack and Tifa were all lovey dovey, then zack breaks her heart and leaves her for Aerith. So then Tifa is all like "wahhh my life sucks, look at all the happy people who have yet to suffer from heartbreak. brb while i go cry" THE END.

okay, at this point im just rambling XD BUT YEAH, MY TWO CENTS, EVEN IF THEY MAKE NO SENSE.

I got confused somewhere about which song we were considering, but I like "Youth" by Daughter, as well as "Don't Cry" by Olivia Broadfield.

As for the theme idea, I like what's being mainly considered, with being devastated at getting left behind.

Anyone here ever heard of "Home" by Foxes? I heard it just the other day and it made me think of you guys. I think it's lovely.

I also have to extend my apologies to the whole group for my lack of participation in the last project. I just started college, and the workload has been overwhelming. Now that I'm in the swing of things, though, I'd really like to dedicate some time to the next one, whatever it is.
